Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 1033 amends Section 66-3-846.1 NMSA 1978 to require that vehicle sun screening
material information be provided on an invoice instead of labels attached to the window.
Significant Issues
This bill requires that an installer of sun screening material on a motor vehicle shall provide with
the installation an invoice or certificate specifying the vehicle identification number and the
manufacturer and percentage of light transmission of the sun screening material used. The
owner of the vehicle shall maintain the invoice or certificate or a copy of the invoice in the vehi-
cle.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
This bill has no impact on the general fund.
