SUMMARY
Synopsis of HJC Amendment
The House Judiciary Committee Amendment provides greater specificity by indicating that the
appropriation shall support an antivictimization program for women that deals with awareness,
safety tips, self-defense, and women coming together to protect themselves.
Synopsis of Original Bill
House Bill 980 appropriates $100 thousand from the general fund to the local government divi-
sion of DFA to support an antivictimization program for women at the Albuquerque police de-
partment.
Significant Issues
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the Women Against Crime program is a free
course that deals with awareness, safety tips, self-defense, and women coming together to learn
