Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 851 – Making an Appropriation to the Board of Regents of New Mexico Institute of
Mining and Technology for Operation of the Magdalena Ridge Observatory – appropriates
$5,000,000 from the general fund to the Board of Regents of the New Mexico Institute of Mining
and Technology for expenditure in FY06 and subsequent fiscal years for operation of the Magda-
lena Ridge observatory. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a
fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
