SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 565 amend the current definition of an ignition interlock device to “a device, ap-
proved by the traffic safety bureau, that prevents the operation of a motor vehicle by an intoxi-
cated or impaired person.”
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
AOC states there will be a minimal administrative cost for statewide update, distribution, and
documentation of statutory changes.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
DPS states the proposed legislation would allow the definition of ignition interlock device to
keep pace with future technologies advances without having to amend the language of the defini-
