SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 524 appropriates $3,000 million from the General Fund to the Department of Trans-
portation for the purpose of continuing development of and improvements to the Northwest Loop
road in Sandoval County to ultimately connect interstate 40 and interstate 25 around and west of
Albuquerque and Rio Rancho in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties.
Significant Issues
The department of transportation is supportive of this request to conduct the project however; the
department feels quite strongly that the monies should be appropriated to Sandoval County rather
than the department.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $3,000million contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the Gen-
eral Fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY06 shall revert
to the General Fund.
