SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 467 recompiles existing emergency acts relating to emergency management and
combines them into one emergency powers code.
PERFORMANCE IMPLICATIONS
DPS reports the recompilation and establishment of the emergency powers code will facilitate
references, procedures and processes during an emergency or disaster. They state this will be a
benefit to emergency management.
EMNRD states the proposed legislation would bring together disaster relief funding, interstate
compacts on emergency management assistance, civil preparedness, public health emergency
response, energy emergency powers, and riot control and hazardous materials law.
