SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 262 appropriates $75 thousand from the general fund to the Human Services Depart-
ment to for food banks to expand their programs and assist in the purchase and transport of lo-
cally grown food products.
Significant Issues
Human services notes.
Some New Mexico farmers currently donate what cannot be sold of their crop to food
banks, but the food banks must assume the costs for transportation.
