SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 36 appropriates $125 thousand from the general fund to the Cultural Affairs Depart-
ment in FY05 and FY06 to conduct a statewide arts conference and regional workshops in rural
areas for training and development in arts marketing and fundraising. Any remaining balance at
the end of fiscal year 2006 would revert to the general fund.
Significant Issues
According to the arts division of the Cultural Affairs Department, that division completed a three
year plan in FY04, which is required to receive federal funding from the National Endowment
for the Arts. One of the top priorities voiced by constituents statewide was the development of
