AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE INTERSTATE STREAM COMMISSION FOR MULTI-STAKEHOLDER PLANNING EFFORTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE FEDERAL ARIZONA WATER SETTLEMENTS ACT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 and subsequent fiscal years to support a multi-stakeholder planning process in connection with the federal Arizona Water Settlements Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall not revert to the general fund.

     Section 2. REPORTING.--By October 15 of each year, the interstate stream commission shall report to the legislative finance committee regarding the status of the planning process in connection with the Arizona Water Settlements Act.
