AN ACT

RELATING TO EDUCATION; RELOCATING THE RURAL EDUCATION DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. A new section of the Public Education Department Act is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] RURAL EDUCATION DIVISION--LOCATED IN LAS CRUCES.--The rural education division of the department shall be located in Las Cruces and housed at New Mexico state university. Division full-time-equivalent positions are department positions, and division employees are not employees of the university."
