AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR OBESITY PREVENTION PROGRAMS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to provide programs that improve nutrition and physical activity in schools and communities to prevent obesity in children and youth. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
