AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY FOR AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eight hundred ten thousand dollars ($810,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for an economic development initiative centered at New Mexico highlands university in conjunction with the city of Las Vegas and Luna vocational-technical institute. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
