    Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE EDUCATION COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE BILL 677, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. Strike Senate Floor Amendment 1.

     2. On page 8, line 12, strike "Three" and insert in lieu thereof "Four".

     3. On page 8, strike lines 14 and 15 and strike line 16 through "two" and insert in lieu thereof:

"the university of New Mexico, one of whom shall represent New Mexico state university, one of whom shall represent New Mexico institute of mining and technology and one of whom shall represent either New Mexico highlands university, eastern New Mexico university or western New Mexico university; three".

     4. On page 9, line 5, strike the first occurrence of "Members" and insert in lieu thereof "Four members of the initial board, including the student member, shall be appointed for two years, five members shall be appointed for three years and five members shall be appointed for four years; thereafter, the student member shall serve a two-year term and the other members".
