Your LABOR AND HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE CORPORATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 657, as amended
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 16, before the period, insert "; PROVIDING AN EXCEPTION".
2. On page 1, line 24, strike "For" and insert in lieu thereof "Except as provided in Subsection D of this section, for".
3. On page 4, line 14, strike the quotation mark.
4. On page 4, between lines 14 and 15, insert the following new subsection to read:
"D. Subsections A, B and C of this section shall not be construed to affect or apply to a common law or statutory action providing for recovery in torts and shall not be construed to affect or change the common law interpretation of independent contractor status as it relates to tort liability."".,
and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
