AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR A NATIVE AMERICAN ACCESS TO JUSTICE PROJECT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty-two thousand dollars ($352,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to establish a Native American access to justice project under the school of law, in cooperation with the American Indian law center, incorporated, and DNA-people's legal services, incorporated. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
