AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE RECORDS CENTER FOR PROGRAMS IN THE OFFICE OF THE STATE HISTORIAN.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Seven hundred fifty-five thousand dollars ($755,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state records center for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for the following purposes and in the following amounts:

                (1) three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) for the New Mexico history web site project to enhance and expand history program units on the existing web site;

                (2) two hundred ten thousand dollars ($210,000) for the New Mexico history publications history series to advance knowledge, understanding and appreciation of New Mexico history;

                (3) seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) for the New Mexico history scholars program for fellowships and the implementation of a lecture program; and

                (4) one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000) for the New Mexico centennial farms program to employ a project director who will be responsible for organizing and implementing the program.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
