AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR DWI AWARENESS EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN GRADES FOUR THROUGH TWELVE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to expand DWI awareness education in grades four through twelve. The department shall contract only with programs or advocate groups that provide an evidence-based curriculum. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
