AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ASSIST LOW-INCOME SENIOR CITIZENS TO AVOID BATHROOM FALLS THROUGH THE INSTALLATION OF BATHROOM SAFETY GRAB BARS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for the installation of bathroom safety grab bars in the homes of low-income seniors sixty-five years of age and older in the counties of Grant, Hidalgo, Luna, Catron, Sierra, Socorro and Dona Ana. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
