AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO WESTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY FOR RECURRING ATHLETIC PROGRAM NEEDS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million six hundred forty-seven thousand five hundred dollars ($1,647,500) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of western New Mexico university for expenditure in fiscal years 2005 and 2006 to fund athletics at both school and conference levels and to address gender equity requirements. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
