AN ACT

RELATING TO THE LEGISLATURE; PROVIDING AN ORIENTATION AND PER DIEM AND MILEAGE FOR MEMBERS-ELECT OF THE LEGISLATURE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. A new section of Chapter 2, Article 1 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:

      "[NEW MATERIAL] NEWLY ELECTED MEMBER PER DIEM AND MILEAGE AND ORIENTATION.--Upon certification of election, each member-elect of the legislature shall be entitled to receive per diem and mileage for new-member orientation provided by the New Mexico legislative council at the rate then in effect for legislators."
