AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO FULLY FUND THE MEDICAID PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ninety-two million dollars ($92,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to continue the current level of benefits and eligibility in the medicaid program and to allow for growth in the projected number of recipients and the rising costs of providing services to beneficiaries. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
