HOUSE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1__ to HOUSE BILL 849, as amended

    1. Strike House Business and Industry Committee Amendment 1.

    2. On page 1, line 22, to page 2, line 1, remove the brackets and line-through and on page 2, line 1, after the period insert the following:

    "The secretary of general services shall make every effort to keep the costs of legal notices and advertisements within the budget constraints of state and local governments.".

    3. On page 2, lines 1 through 7, strike the underscored language.

    4. On page 2, line 15, strike the ending quotation mark.

    5. On page 2, between lines 15 and 16, insert the following new subsection:

         "C. The secretary of general services shall report annually to the legislature the rates charged for legal notices or advertisements and shall report if there has been a rate increase or request for a rate increase for legal notices or advertisements and state the reasons for the rate increase or request for a rate increase."".
