AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A CLINICAL TEACHING INSTITUTE TO SUPPORT NURSING LEADERSHIP AND RETENTION OF NURSES IN NEW MEXICO.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to contract with a statewide nonprofit organization whose purpose is to expand the nursing workforce in New Mexico by establishing a clinical teaching institute to support ongoing leadership development and to promote mentoring of best practices in order to retain nurses in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
