AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SEXUAL OFFENSE EVIDENCE TESTING.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of public safety for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for processing serological, deoxyribonucleic acid and trace evidence analyses related to sexual offenses. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
