AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE REIMBURSEMENT RATES FOR FOSTER PARENTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million one hundred sixty-eight thousand dollars ($1,168,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to increase the rate of maintenance payments to parents caring for children in foster care. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
