AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE PROGRAM IN AEROSPACE ENGINEERING.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for a bachelor of science degree program in aerospace engineering. The commission shall seek proposals from the four-year post-secondary educational institutions that have engineering programs to develop the bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering and shall select the best proposal. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
