AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION; PROVIDING FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF BREATH TESTING INSTRUMENTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred fifty-three thousand dollars ($553,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the scientific laboratory division of the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 and subsequent fiscal years for the purpose of purchasing state-of-the-art breath testing instruments to replace those currently used by the division. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
