    Your LABOR AND HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 507

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following new section:

     "Section 1. Section 50-6-1 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1925, Chapter 79, Section 1, as amended) is amended to read:

     "50-6-1. CHILDREN UNDER FOURTEEN--EMPLOYMENT [DURING SCHOOL HOURS] PROHIBITED.--No child under fourteen years of age shall be employed or permitted to labor at any gainful occupation [during the hours during which the schools in the district in which the child resides are in session. No child under the age of fourteen years shall be employed at any gainful occupation when the school of the district in which such child resides is not in session unless such child obtains a permit certificate issued in the manner and by the authority herein directed]."".

     2. Renumber the succeeding sections accordingly.

     3. On page 1, line 19, remove the brackets and line through "FOURTEEN TO" and strike "UNDER".

     4. On page 1, lines 20 and 21, remove the brackets and line through "over the age of fourteen years and".

     5. On page 2, line 4, strike "UNDER" and remove the brackets and line through "FOURTEEN" and after "FOURTEEN" insert "TO".

     6. On page 2, line 6, after "child" insert "over the age of fourteen years and".

     7. On page 2, line 15, after "Children" insert "over the age of fourteen years and".

     8. On page 3, line 4, strike "UNDER" and insert in lieu thereof "FOURTEEN TO".

     9. On page 3, line 6, after "child" insert "over the age of fourteen years and".

     10. On page 4, line 11, after "children" insert "over the age of fourteen years and".

     11. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.

     12. On page 5, line 6, after "minors" insert "over fourteen years and".

     13. On page 6, lines 2 and 3, remove the brackets and line through "over the age of fourteen years and".

     14. On page 10, line 22, strike "50-6-1,".

     15. On page 10, line 23, strike "Sections 1 and" and insert in lieu thereof "Section".

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
