    Your ENERGY AND NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 393

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 2, line 8, after "commission" insert ", working in conjunction with the attorney general to fulfill the duties set out in Section 8-5-17 NMSA 1978".

     2. On page 4, between lines 3 and 4, insert the following new subsection to read:

          "H. The board and any funding provided to the board shall supplement the work of the attorney general and shall not in any way diminish the role, responsibilities and funding provided to the attorney general to represent consumers and small businesses in utility matters.",

and thence referred to the BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE.
