AN ACT

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES; PROVIDING FOR OPTIONAL COUNTY NAME STICKERS TO BE PLACED ON REGISTRATION PLATES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. A new section of Chapter 66, Article 3 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] COUNTY NAME STICKERS.--The department shall make available, upon request, county name stickers or decals for purchase at a reasonable charge to be set by the secretary. The stickers or decals shall be designed and prescribed by the department to fit on a registration plate without obscuring the registration number or validating sticker."
