AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INCREASED PERSONNEL TO STAFF THE BUREAU OF ELECTIONS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the secretary of state for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to provide for the addition of at least two full-time employees within the bureau of elections whose primary duties are the enforcement of the Election Code, including the Federal Voting Rights Compliance Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
