AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE A FULL-DAY INDIAN LAW INSTITUTE FOR NEW MEXICO LEGISLATORS TO ENABLE THEM TO UNDERSTAND THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF INDIAN LAW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five thousand dollars ($5,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico legislative council for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to provide as a part of mandatory ethics training a full-day Indian law institute for New Mexico legislators to enable them to understand the fundamental principles of Indian law. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
