AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ESTABLISH AN OUTREACH PROGRAM TO ASSIST NATIVE AMERICAN VETERANS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the veterans' services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to establish an outreach program to assist Native American veterans to obtain information on and file for state and federal benefits offered to veterans residing on tribal land. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
