AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR INCREASED PERSONNEL TO INVESTIGATE AND PROSECUTE ALLEGED VIOLATIONS OF THE INDIAN ARTS AND CRAFTS SALES ACT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the attorney general for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to provide for the addition of at least two full-time employees within the consumer protection division or the special prosecutions/investigations division of the office of the attorney general whose primary duties would be the investigation and prosecution of violations of the Indian Arts and Crafts Sales Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
