FOR THE INDIAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES ON TRIBAL LANDS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. One million five hundred nineteen thousand nine hundred dollars ($1,519,900) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for supporting temporary assistance for needy family programs on tribal land, to be distributed as follows:

                (1) one million three hundred thirty-three thousand dollars ($1,333,000) for Navajo Nation programs supporting temporary assistance for needy families; and

                (2) one hundred and eighty-six thousand nine hundred dollars ($186,900) for Zuni tribal programs supporting temporary assistance for needy families.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
