Amendment sponsored by Senator

    1. On page 1, line 13, strike "DEVELOPMENTAL" and insert in lieu thereof "COLLEGE PREPARATORY".

    2. On page 1, line 21, strike "English" and insert in lieu thereof "language arts".

    3. On page 2, line 3, after the subsection designation "B.", strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 4 through 8 in their entirety and strike line 9 through "institution;" and insert in lieu thereof the following:

"The results of the eleventh grade statewide standards-based academic performance test in language arts and mathematics shall be used as academic indicators and the results shall be used to prepare the individual program of study for grade twelve pursuant to Section 22-13-1.1 NMSA 1978,".

    4. On page 2, strike lines 12 and 13 in their entirety.

    5. On page 2, between lines 13 and 14, insert the following new subsection:

         "C. The eleventh grade statewide standards-based test administered pursuant to Subsection B of this section shall be developed by the public education department with input and assistance from the two-year and four-year educational institutions. The test shall be aligned with the statewide standards-based academic performance tests administered according to the statewide assessment and accountability system and with the entrance examinations of the state's two-year and four-year educational institutions.".

    6. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.

    7. On page 2, line 14, after the subsection designation, strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 15 through 17 in their entirety and strike line 18 through the period.

    8. On page 2, line 18, strike "English" and insert in lieu thereof "language arts".

    9. On page 2, line 21, strike "English" and insert in lieu thereof "language arts".
