AN ACT

RELATING TO COUNTY ASSESSORS; PROVIDING FOR THE ELECTION OF COUNTY ASSESSORS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. A new section of Chapter 4, Article 39 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] COUNTY ASSESSORS--ELECTION.--There shall be elected a county assessor for each county whose duties, powers and compensation shall be prescribed by law."
