AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO CONDUCT RESEARCH ON SUSTAINABLE AND ORGANIC AGRICULTURE AND HORTICULTURE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred ninety-four thousand dollars ($394,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to support research and extension programs in the college of agriculture and home economics to investigate long-term, potentially self-sustaining, organic agriculture through the application of precision and biological control technology for priority pests that threaten the survival and economics of agriculture and horticulture in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
1
