AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO TEACH AND PROMOTE CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING ON BEHALF OF INDIAN TRIBES IN THE FOUR CORNERS AREA.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-two thousand five hundred thirty-two dollars ($72,532) is appropriated from the general fund to the city of Farmington in the county of San Juan for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to implement a community education project in the Four Corners area to teach and promote cultural understanding through the preparation and provision of brochures and yearly event calendars, day and evening classes for the public and shows and presentations highlighting traditional Native American arts and crafts. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
