A MEMORIAL
EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION AND CONGRATULATIONS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ON THE SUCCESS OF THE INITIAL SEASON OF THE ALBUQUERQUE ISOTOPES.
WHEREAS, professional baseball has returned to New Mexico after being absent for two years; and
WHEREAS, the Albuquerque Isotopes have brought professional baseball to New Mexico in a successful way; and
WHEREAS, the Isotopes bring family entertainment at affordable prices to the community; and
WHEREAS, the Isotopes organization makes fun-filled entertainment at the ballpark a way of life; and
WHEREAS, the Isotopes capped off a successful first season with a division title and berth in the Pacific coast league playoffs; and
WHEREAS, the Isotopes are the top farm club for the world series champion Florida Marlins; and
WHEREAS, the Isotopes and network architechs appreciate the service of the hundreds of New Mexico public servants and will formally show their appreciation by proclaiming May 7, 2004 as "State of New Mexico Day" at Isotopes park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that appreciation and congratulations be extended to the Albuquerque Isotopes on the initial success of the franchise and bringing baseball back to New Mexico; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the mayor of Albuquerque and the Albuquerque Isotopes.
