Mr. Speaker:

 

    Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

 

SENATE JOINT MEMORIAL 10, as amended

 

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

 

     1. Strike all senate rules committee amendments.

 

     2. On page 1, line 11, strike "CULTURAL AFFAIRS" and insert in lieu thereof "STATE RECORDS AND ARCHIVES".

 

     3. On page 2, line 4, strike "cultural affairs" and insert in lieu thereof "state records and archives".

 

     4. On page 2, line 9, strike "and report the", strike line 10 and strike line 11 through the semicolon.

 

     5. On page 2, line 14, strike "was obtained through dishonest, unjust or illegal means and".

 

     6. On page 2, line 15, strike "cultural affairs" and insert in lieu thereof "state records and archives".

 

     7. On page 2, line 16, strike "determine what actions are" and insert in lieu thereof "shall recommend remedial action, if any".

 

     8. On page 2, strike line 17 and strike line 18 through the semicolon.

 

     9. On page 2, between lines 18 and 19, insert the following:

 

     "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the office of state records and archives and the office of the attorney general report the results of the study to the legislature not later than November 1, 2004; and".

 

     10. On page 2, line 20, strike "cultural affairs" and insert in lieu thereof "state records and archives".
