A MEMORIAL

PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 13, 2004 TO BE "ALBUQUERQUE TECHNICAL-VOCATIONAL INSTITUTE DAY AT THE LEGISLATURE".

 

     WHEREAS, since 1965 the Albuquerque technical-vocational institute has provided education you can use; and

     WHEREAS, an Albuquerque technical-vocational institute education has helped hundred of thousands of individuals obtain employment; and

     WHEREAS, the Albuquerque technical-vocational institute has become synonymous with economic development in the state of New Mexico; and

     WHEREAS, the Albuquerque technical-vocational institute serves a wide range of constituents from students aspiring to a high-tech career and students wanting to learn a trade for business or pleasure to people wishing to earn a high school diploma and immigrants needing to learn English; and

     WHEREAS, everything at the Albuquerque technical-vocational institute is about students; and

     WHEREAS, the Albuquerque technical-vocational institute is, indeed, "a community college with heart . . . at the heart of the community";

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Friday, February 13, 2004, be declared "Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute Day at the Legislature"; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the governing board of the Albuquerque technical-vocational institute.
