reports (FIRs) are prepared by the Legislative
Finance Committee (LFC) for standing finance committees of the NM Legislature. The
LFC does not assume responsibility for the accuracy of these reports if they
are used for other purposes.
Current FIRs (in HTML & Adobe PDF formats) are available on the
NM Legislative Website (legis.state.nm.us). Adobe PDF versions include all attachments,
whereas HTML versions may not.

SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Joint Memorial
28 requests PED to evaluate the standards-based student report cards being
implemented by the Albuquerque Public Schools and to report findings and
recommendations periodically to the Legislative Education Study Committee
(LESC)
Significant Issues
According to PED, the Los Alamos Public Schools
is currently implementing a similar report card process and the Rio Rancho
Public Schools is in the initial stages of developing this process. These
districts will be invited to participate in this evaluation process.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
PED indicates that the
department staff will evaluate this model and report results to the LESC.
