standing finance committees of the NM Legislature. The LFC does not assume
responsibility for the accuracy of these reports if they are used for other
purposes.

requests the Legislative Council to continue the Land Grant Committee.
Significant Issues
Issues concerning land grants have been largely
ignored or handled in a piecemeal fashion since statehood.
There are many complex issues still to be
resolved concerning land grants and the issues encompass a large portion of the
people and land in the state.
The people of
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The LG spent $15.2 to
hold six meetings of the Land Grant Committee in the last calendar year. They
estimate that the cost will be the same in the coming year to continue the Land
Grant Committee.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The LC has sufficient
administrative resources to handle the staffing for the continuation of the
Land Grant Committee.
