SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

The Senate Education Committee substitute for Senate Bill 581 substantively amends one definition in the Liquor Control and makes technical corrections to others. The “licensed premises” definition is amended. The bill carries an emergency clause.

Significant Issues

This bill allows a business, with two independent locations, the opportunity to operate under one license only in cases where the voters in a local option district have not allowed for liquor licenses to be transferred into the district. Businesses must have been in operation since July 1, 1987.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The bill does not contain an appropriation.
