SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 442 declares
information contained in county or municipal databases to be public information,
except as otherwise provided by federal or state law. State agency database information is already
public information.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The bill allows the county
or municipality to receive consideration for the service provided. The bill allows a state agency, county or
municipality to distribute the data by way of a computer tape or other storage
medium. In these instances, the agency,
county or municipality may base the amount of the consideration on the cost to
the public of developing the database.
