Synopsis of Bill
House Memorial 6
requests the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service to withdraw
the proposed forest management plan and draft environmental impact statement
for the Jicarilla ranger district with the
Significant Issues
The State Land Office reports that the proposed action by the Forest Service to inhibit the development of a large supply of natural gas in an area where there is already significant development may discourage the oil and gas industry from exploring and investing in any of New Mexico’s lands.
