SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
The House Joint
Memorial 51 encourages and requests the PED to study the potential for state,
federal, city and county employees and retired employees to volunteer to serve
as public school teachers.
Significant Issues
According to PED, the term “volunteer” presumes
that these individuals will not be paid for their services by the local school
district.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
PED indicates that
staff would be required to conduct the study and report its findings.
