SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 365
appropriates $200 thousand from the general fund to Insurance Program of the
Public Regulation Commission for the purpose of preparing feasibility studies,
capital construction and improvement plans, and implementation plans to attain
minimum standards for fire protection services and to complete the building
process at the state Firefighter Training Academy in Socorro, New Mexico.
Significant Issues
The original plans for construction for the
Academy included a second phase, which has not funded according to the agency. HB365
would provide funding to compile new plans for expansion of the physical plant
and programs of the training academy.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $200
thousand contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY05 shall revert
to the general fund.
