SUMMARY
Synopsis of
HGUAC Amendment
The House Government and Urban Affairs Committee
Amendment adds the
Synopsis of Original Bill
House Bill 70
appropriates $150,000 from the general fund to the office of cultural affairs
for expenditure in fiscal years 2005 and 2006 for the purpose of developing and
implementing a plan for activities to promote recognition, understanding and
celebration of national historic trails and byways in New Mexico, including el
camino real de tierra adentro, the Santa Fe trail, the old Spanish trail and
route 66.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of
$150.0 contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006
shall revert to the general fund.
ADMINISTRATIVE
IMPLICATIONS
Four
"national historic trails and byways" are listed by name in this
bill: El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro,
the
AMENDMENTS
The
Scenic Byways program is administered by NMDOT.
According to NMDOT, NMDOT and the National Park Service should be
included in Subsection B of the bill which lists the agencies with whom the
office of cultural affairs should coordinate.
